Officers from British Transport Police were called to the incident, which happened at about 10.35pm on Saturday, and sealed off part of the Sheerness-bound platform.

It is believed a grey Ford Transit Connect van was involved in the incident.

A spokesman for the ambulance service confirmed it received a call to the railway station shortly before 11pm but said he couldn't comment further.

Police have now launched an appeal for more information.
