Rail services have been delayed after a fire near the tracks.
Trains were unable to run between Sittingbourne and Faversham due to reports of a blaze near Teynham.
Southeastern, posting on X, shortly after 2.30pm said response staff attended a fire “next to the track”.
“Trains between Sittingbourne and Faversham are being delayed at the moment while the fire is attended,” they added.
In an update, posted shortly after 3pm, the rail operator said fire crews had been in attendance and the brigade had now left.
Two fire engines had been called to the scene and a cause of the blaze is not known.
The line was reopened shortly after the power was restored but delays remain.
At 5.06pm on X, Southeastern posted: “Further repairs are needed to remove some damaged cables at Teynham.
“The line is expected to be blocked for approximately 30 minutes to do this between 6.50pm and 7.20pm.”
Disruption is expected until 8pm.
