Iwade people bare all for 2019 naked calendar

Villagers have bared nearly all for charity in the hope of creating the perfect stocking filler.

The cheeky calendar showcases more than 24 people from businesses in the village.

The models have been snapped either at work or enjoying their hobbies, include a gardener, dog groomer, personal trainer and mechanics.

The photographers snapping the semi-nude shots are also taking part in the Iwade Naked Calendar 2019 to help raise money for Demelza Hospice Care for Children and Swale Cats Protection.

Any additional money raised will go towards a new toilet block at Iwade church.

Speaking about the calendar – thought to be a first for the village – Laura Cheeseman, who came up with the idea, said she couldn’t believe how quickly it had all come together.

The 39-year-old, who has lived in the village for about 15 years, said: “I had the idea two weeks ago, so I put it on Facebook to see if there would be any interest and lots of people came forward. “It’s brought the village to life. Everyone has had a right laugh doing it and it’s just made the village a happy place.”

Within two weeks, Mrs Cheeseman has arranged for all photos to be taken, by Amanda Cooper and Kate Hennessy, and the calendar will be printed, by The Colour Factory Limited in Sittingbourne, on Friday.

“I’m quite impressed with myself,” she joked. “Everyone kept saying I wouldn’t be able to turn it around before Christmas, so that was my aim.”

She added: “I feel like I’m in a bit of a dream world at the moment, but I’m so pleased and so excited for everyone to see the calendars now. If it does really well I’ll definitely do a bigger one next year and, hopefully, make it an annual thing.”

Beautician Mrs Cheeseman, who owns Laura Cheeseman Advanced Beauty and works part-time for estate agents Quealy and Co, has also been papped for the calendar.

The animal-lover said: "I've got two horses in the village that everyone knows, so I had a photo with one of them, he's called Dude, in a field in Iwade.

"How could I expect everyone else to bare all and not do it myself?".

The other businesses that have taken part are Iwade Garage, The Mews Brewhouse, Brambledown Farm Shop, Body Care Hair and Beauty and K Fitness.

Also stripping off for the good causes are dog groomer Rachel Rook, Aden Woodcock of Woodcock and Sons Properties and Maintenance and Rob Amat of ADT Alarms.

Event firefighters Steve Jordan and Dave Neale of RFR Events have bared nearly all for the charities too, along with gardener Steve Allart and artist Andrea Pepper van Schalkwyk.

Even photographers Amanda and Kate found themselves on the other side of the lens.

One hundred calendars will be printed first of all, with the hope of raising £1,200 for the chosen charities. Money from the sale of extra calendars will go to the church.

The calendars will be available to buy from Monday and will cost £12 each. They will be on sale at each of the businesses that took part and via the ‘Iwade Naked Calendar’ Facebook page.
