By Eleanor Perkins

Residents were advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to smoke coming from an overnight blaze which firefighters are allowing to safely burn out.

Crews tackled the rubbish fire for seven hours from 10.25pm in Swale Way, Sittingbourne, before leaving it to ebb away.
