Ambulance called to A2 Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne as woman hit by car taken to hospital

A woman has been taken to hospital with injuries after being hit by a car on a main road through a town.

Police and paramedics rushed to the A2 Canterbury Road in Sittingbourne, following a report a pedestrian had been hit shortly before midday.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a woman was taken to a local hospital."

Her injuries are not believed to be serious.

The ambulance service has been approached for more information.
