Biker in crash with ambulance 'stable'

A MOTORCYCLIST had to undergo emergency surgery in hospital after a serious road crash in the county on Saturday.

The 39-year-old's black Kawasaki motorbike was in collision the an ex-military ambulance in Reading Street, Tenterden, near Ashford, at around 10.10am.

The victim, who is from Rolvenden, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford. Police say he is in a stable condition.

The driver of the ambulance, a private collector, was not hurt.
