A man has been seriously injured after falling down a flight of seaside steps.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Harbour Street in Broadstairs at about 9.10pm yesterday.

Residents spotted an air ambulance landing nearby in Victoria Gardens, before flying the man to a London hospital.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to a report a man had fallen from some steps.

"We attended the scene along with ambulance crews.

"An air ambulance also arrived, and the man was flown to a London hospital for treatment to serious injuries."
