Margate high street arrest after knife incident and 'threats to kill'

A man has been arrested on suspicion of 'threats to kill' after town centre altercation.

The 46-year-old is alleged to have threatened a man with a knife in Margate high street.

Police made the arrest following the incident at 5.50pm last Wednesday.

A man, who was standing in the high street near the junction with The Centre, was reportedly approached and intimidated with a knife.

The victim, who is known to the alleged offender, left the area without injury and alerted the police.

The man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill and possession of a bladed article.

He has been released on bail until Monday, February 3 as inquiries continue.

Officers are now calling for witnesses to come forward.
