Image of man released by police after Ramsgate attempted rape

Police have stepped up their investigation into an attempted rape in a public toilet.

It reportedly took place in a public lavatory at the junction of Grange Road and St Augustine's Road at about 1.10pm on Sunday, December 1.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was grabbed by the suspect but managed to escape unhurt.

A 26-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident on the same day and has been bailed, pending further enquiries, until February 26.

Police are urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken to an officer, or who recognises the man pictured, to call them on 01843 222289, quoting the reference number 46/229773/19.
