Man's body found in water in Westgate-on-Sea

A man's body has been found in the sea.

Police have confirmed that a body was found this morning shortly after 9am in Westgate-on-Sea, near Westleigh Road.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called at 9.06am to a report of man’s body being found in the water near Westleigh Road, Westgate on Sea.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the body was recovered.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
