Teenage boy threatened with broken beer bottle and told to hand over phone in robbery in Cliftonville

A teenager had his mobile phone stolen after being threatened by another boy with a broken beer bottle.

The 14-year-old victim had been in Sweyn Road in Cliftonville, near the junction with Northdown Road, on Saturday when he was approached by a boy of a similar age.

The suspect told the victim to hand over his phone and threatened him with a broken beer bottle before making off with the mobile.

The incident happened at around 4.50pm.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage from the area at that time is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/43411/20.
