Butcher stays between the sticks

Lee Butcher is set to make his third start for Margate in their Ryman League Premier Division home game against Hastings at Hartsdown Park on Saturday.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper is on-loan from Spurs as cover for injured pair Scott Chalmers-Stevens and Pat Mullin.

Chalmers-Stevens is sidelined with a thumb injury, while Mullin has a broken fifth metatarsal, and boss Barry Ashby reckons both could be missing for at least another three weeks.

Ashby said: "Perry Suckling, an old team-mate of mine at Watford, is now goalkeeping coach at Tottenham, and he offered us Lee who has come in and done very well. Perry thinks very highly of him".

Gate, without a game last week, will check on the recovery of Roberto Corbishley, sidelined since being injured at Dover on August Bank Holiday Monday.
