It's a long way from Weatherfield, but that didn't stop Coronation Street favourite Helen Worth paying a visit to Dreamland today.

In a tweet, Dreamland said: "We had a VERY special guest visit Dreamland today!" along with a photo of the star.

Helen has been a firm favourite on the ITV soap since she joined as Gail Platt in 1974.

The 66-year-old received the Outstanding Achievement Award in 2014 British Soap Awards having been on the soap for 40 years.

Dreamland say they are thrilled to be welcoming more and more familiar faces to the park and hope to see many more in the future.

A Dreamland spokesman said: “It’s fantastic to see lots of people coming to Margate with Dreamland on their must do list!

"We are thrilled to be welcoming more and more recognised people to the park and with several VIP areas available to hire we hope to see many more coming down!”
