Thanet Council sorry after sending out polling cards saying voters registered in wrong Thanet constituency

Thanet council has apologised after sending out 11,500 poll cards which mistakenly told residents that they were registered in North Thanet rather than South Thanet constituency.

The council has now sent out revised cards with a letter explaining what had happened and offering an apology.

A statement said: "Thanet District Council is issuing a revised poll card with a letter and has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
