Firefighters battled a blaze at a disused building that started in a wheelie bin overnight.

They were called to the property in Fairfield Road, Broadstairs, just after 2.50am this morning.

The crews managed to extinguish the blaze almost an hour later after cutting away the roof.

In all, four fire engines were called.

They were assisted by police at the scene.
