Dashcam footage shows hit-and-run crash in Margate

A hospital worker whose car was written off in a crash has shared footage of the collision in an attempt to track down a driver who left the scene.

Sherrie New was travelling home after a 13-hour shift at the QEQM in Margate when her Ford Fiesta was struck by a Nissan Qashqai in Broadstairs.

A dashcam video shows the white SUV pull out of a roundabout and hit her blue Fiesta as she travelled southbound along the A255 Dane Court Road.

While Sherrie pulled over after the collision, a rear camera showed the other motorist did not stop and drove off along the A256 towards St Peter's.

The accident happened at 8.40pm on January 4, with Sherrie's car later declared a write-off.
