Smoke seen billowing from home during fire in Bellevue Avenue, Ramsgate

Dramatic footage shows smoke pouring out of a window after a fire broke out at a home this afternoon.

Multiple fire crews were scrambled to Bellevue Avenue, behind the Kennedy House flat block in Ramsgate, to tackle the flames.

In a video, smoke can be seen coming out of an open window while a fire alarm can be heard in the background.

At least two fire engines and a fire service car are at the scene this afternoon.

It is understood police or paramedics were not called to the home.

One eyewitness says they saw the family return to their street amid the blaze, and were said to be “in shock and in tears”.

“I hope they get their life back on track,” they added.

The fire service has been contacted for comment.
