A suspected drink-driver has been arrested after a crash between a car and a van.

The 38-year-old woman remains in police custody following the smash in Margate Road at the junction with Coleman Crescent in Ramsgate.

Two fire engines, police and paramedics were at the scene after being called at about 6.45pm yesterday (March 14).

No injuries were reported

Residents and motorists had been told to avoid the area while the emergency response was ongoing.

The road was reopened at about 8pm.

The ambulance service has been contacted for further details.
