Emergency services descend on Ramsgate Harbour following ‘medical incident’

A person has been taken to hospital after a medical incident at a harbour last night.

Ambulance crews were called to Ramsgate Harbour shortly after 4pm yesterday following reports of a person in need of medical assistance.

Pictures from the scene also showed fire engines on Military Road next to the marina, with the service being called to the scene more than an hour later at 5.23pm.

It is understood the patient was taken to QEQM hospital in Margate.

A KFRS spokesperson said: “Four fire engines, a height vehicle and the water safety unit attended, and crews assisted SECAmb paramedics.”

A SECAmb spokesperson added: “SECAmb were called to reports of a male in need of medical attention in the Ramsgate harbour.

“Crews assessed and treated the patient at the scene before conveying him to the QEQM hospital for further medical treatment.”
