Firefighters called to vehicle blaze at garage in Ramsgate and out of control bonfire at Margate home

Fire and ambulance crews on the Isle have been called to two separate incidents in quick succession.

Firefighters had to deal with a vehicle fire in a garage workshop in Coldswood Road, Ramsgate, and an out of control garden fire at a home in Flete Road, Margate, yesterday.

The garden fire had started as a bonfire but spread into long grass and when fire crews arrived at about 12.30pm they found the resident fighting the flames with his garden hose to stop it reaching a large row of conifers.
