Fire in field off Minster Road in Westgate-on-Sea

A huge blaze has broken out in a field off a residential road.

The fire service has urged people living in and near Minster Road in Westgate-on-Sea to keep their windows and doors closed after about 7,000 bales of hay caught alight.

Four fire engines were called to the site at about 2.45am, and crews have work through the night to bring the blaze under control.

The incident has now been scaled back to two fire engines.
