Huge emergency response after teen motorcyclist injured in hit-and-run crash in Grange Road, Ramsgate

A teen motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after he was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash.

The incident happened on Grange Road, Ramsgate, this morning and the route remains shut.

Police are still hunting the driver and have cordoned off the street.

The children’s air ambulance landed nearby on Ramsgate Football Club’s field in Price’s Road.

A 19-year-old man has been airlifted to a London hospital with injuries to his head and femur.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at 11.12am to a report of a collision involving two vehicles.

“Officers are attending the scene in Grange Road, Ramsgate.

“A man sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a London hospital.

“The road remains closed and enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver of one of the vehicles, which left the scene.”

An ambulance services spokeswoman added: “We were called at 11.10am to reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a car on Grange Road in Ramsgate.

“Crews assessed and treated the motorcyclist at the scene for injuries to their head and femur.

“Crews were then joined by The Air Ambulance Charity, Kent Surrey Sussex, who airlifted the patient to King’s College Hospital in London for further medical treatment.”
