Their first stop on the coast last Friday was at the legendary Newington Fish Bar in Ramsgate where both got to grips with prepping, frying and serving the classics at the award-winning eatery.

The Breakfast team then took-off to Sandy’s in Folkestone where they continued their deep dive into Britain’s favourite takeaway as part of last week’s show celebrating a staple part of Kent’s culture.

While Numi proved to be a natural, Rob’s skills - say the staff - rested more in keeping his customers entertained.

And George from Sandy’s didn’t hold back when it came to handing out the job reviews.

He said: “Rob’s way too chatty to work behind the counter – but we’ll take Numi!”

You can listen to kmfm Breakfast, weekdays from 6:30am.
