A former Wilko at a busy shopping centre is set to be taken over by Superdrug next month.
Bosses at Westwood Cross in Broadstairs are preparing for the health and beauty retailer to fill the gap left by the retailer.
Wilko shut all of its stores after going into administration in August 2023, with 15 Kent branches affected.
Since closing in September that year, the large unit in Broadstairs has sat empty.
Other potential new uses for the former Wilko sites in the county include a church, children’s nursery and youth centre in Sittingbourne, a vet in Swanley and an indoor market in Folkestone.
B&M took over three sites in Gillingham, Rainham and Maidstone, while Tunbridge Wells’s store became a Poundstretcher.
The move comes as Skechers eyes up Superdrug’s current home at Westwood Cross.
A revamp of the store will be carried out when Superdrug shuts next month, before swiftly moving into its new home.
Skechers says it will look to erect signage towards the end of September following the refurb.
It will be the American footwear company’s fifth store in Kent, with shops in Bluewater Shopping Centre, Maidstone, Ashford and Canterbury all currently open.
