Ramsgate man arrested by police after 'knife threat' at Chatham Court in Margate Road

A man is in custody after allegedly threatening somebody with a knife during a disturbance at a block of flats this afternoon.

Police arrived at 4.15pm following reports of the incident at Chatham Court in Ramsgate and arrested the suspect, who is said to be known to the victim.

Officers were seen searching the building before bringing a man in handcuffs and putting him into the back of a police car.

Another officer wearing plastic gloves brought what appeared to be a green kitchen knife out of the property.

Two police cars and a van were seen parked up outside the block of flats in Margate Road.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 4.15pm to a report a person had been threatened with a knife at a location in Margate Road, Ramsgate.

"Officers attended the scene and arrested a man, who is believed to be known to the victim.

"The suspect remains in custody."
