Huge emergency response in Birchington as man assaulted and driven away by attackers in Mercedes

A man was attacked and driven away in a Mercedes during a terrifying ordeal.

Detectives are investigating after the victim – who was walking in Coleman’s Stairs Road, Birchington – was involved in an altercation with at least two men in a black car.

He was reportedly attacked between 5.25pm and 5.30pm yesterday before being driven more than six miles to Ramsgate, where he was released from the vehicle.

Police were called at 5.39pm sparking a huge emergency response.

Multiple police cars and paramedics arrived at the scene – as well as an air ambulance.

A police spokesman described the incident as “suspicious”.

“The victim sustained minor injuries and detectives are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” he said.
