A man has been found dead at a former seaside fairground in Ramsgate.

Police were called to the Pleasurama site off Harbour Parade just after 9.45am.

Some reports claim a man may have fallen from the cliffs above the site in Marina Road, but police would only say his death remains "unexplained".

A force spokesman said: "The South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended and a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquires are ongoing to establish the identity of the person and the circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained."

The fire service has also been attending what officers had earlier described as a "medical incident".
