Ramsgate man released from hospital after being found with serious injuries outside Iceland store in Margate

A man who was found lying in the road with serious injuries to his arms and neck has been released from hospital.

Police were called to the injured man who was lying behind the Iceland store in College Walk in Margate at 5pm on Friday.

The man, who is in his 30s and from Ramsgate, had to be flown to London after the incident.

Police say the man has now been released from hospital and is being looked after by healthcare specialists.

Forensics officers and detectives had set up a cordon and were searching the area while paramedics and air ambulance crews treated the victim on Friday evening.

Officers say they are still continuing to try and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Det Sgt Sheena Barrell is leading the police probe into the incident. She said: “The circumstances surrounding what happened are currently unexplained.

“The area is frequented by a lot of people, so we would ask anyone who believes they have details about what happened to contact us.”
