Man injured in Hawley Street, Margate after crash between car and pedestrian

A pedestrian was left seriously injured and taken to hospital after being hit by a car in a busy town centre.

The incident happened at about 6.30pm on Friday in Hawley Street, Margate.

It was reported a silver Mitsubishi car was involved, with a man injured in the crash near the New Street junction.

He was taken to QEQM hospital in Margate and sustained serious injuries in the collision.

Police have not confirmed whether he has since been discharged or still remains in hospital.

Officers are investigating the collision and are appealing for anyone who witnessed it to come forward.

They would also like to speak to anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage taken in the area.
