Four people have been arrested after a man was left with serious head injuries following an alleged town centre assault.

The incident happened in King Street, Ramsgate at about 4.20am on Saturday.

Emergency services attended and a man in his 40s was taken to hospital for treatment.

He suffered serious injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.

As part of an investigation, three men, aged 20, 21, and 24, and an 18-year-old woman were arrested.

A police spokesman added: “One man remains in custody and the others have been released on bail pending further inquiries.”
