Man taken to hospital after group alleyway attack in Tivoli Park, Margate

A man was taken to hospital after being attacked by a group in an alleyway in Margate.

The incident happened in Tivoli Park between 7pm and 8.10pm yesterday.

A man in his thirties reported he was walking down an alleyway under a railway bridge when he was confronted by a group of four men who assaulted him.

The victim sustained injuries to his hands and required treatment from a local hospital.

A second man, known to the victim, rushed to his aid but was also assaulted while doing so.

The suspects are believed to have left the scene in a vehicle.

They are described as being in their twenties, two white men and two mixed race, all wearing dark clothing. One suspect was reportedly carrying a knife.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the attack to come forward.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time of the assault.
