Ramsgate cancels New Year celebration fireworks display

Ramsgate will see in the New Year with less of a bang than expected after a fireworks display was cancelled.

Ramsgate Town Council had organised the celebration for around the Royal Harbour at midnight.

The fireworks have been cancelled.

But in a message today, it announced the display was off due to the weather.

VisitRamsgate UK tweeted: "Sorry to report the fireworks have been cancelled by the company tonight due to high winds forecast."
