More fires at Invicta House, Margate

Fire crews have been called out to a tower block on numerous occasions in the past week.

Invicta House, in Millmead Road, Margate, has been a continual cause of concern thanks to an ever-expanding list of reported fires.

Yesterday emergency services arrived at the 14-storey building on two occasions to deal with separate blazes.

Fire engines were on site at 4pm and then later on at 11pm to deal with separate bin fires.

The call-outs came after a rubbish chute blaze on July 7, and a further bin fire on July 10.

Invicta House, which is managed by under-fire firm East Kent Housing, has been the scene of several fires over the years, including a serious incident requiring 50 firefighters in 2007.
