A bonfire spread out of control, prompting a heavy response from firefighters.
Crews were called to the blaze in Mere Gate, Margate, at 8.54pm yesterday (Saturday).
Three engines attended, with the situation causing panic among neighbours who reported hearing “the biggest bang”.
No injuries were reported, but Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has warned those planning bonfires to keep them well away from trees, bushes and buildings.
“Burning should be supervised at all times, and there should always be a bucket of water nearby,” added a KFRS spokesperson.
Firefighters were finished at the scence by 10.12pm.
