Broadstairs: Pedestrian left with serious injuries following road accident

A pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Broadstairs.

It happened at around 3pm in Ramsgate Road, near the East Kent College.

Emergency services closed the road, but it has since reopened.

A spokesman from police said: "We were called at 3.47pm to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs.

"Officers attended along with Secamb and the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries not believed to be life threatening.

"A road closure was put in place while the incident was dealt with."
