Disappointed families turned away from Dreamland Margate after power cut

Families travelling to Dreamland today have been left disappointed after a power cut ground the site to a halt.

Visitors were not allowed into the theme park in Marine Terrace, Margate, with several turning to Twitter to vent their anger and demand refunds.

One customer, Francesca Knight, said she had spent four hours travelling as well as £65 in taxis and £170 in accommodation.

Another, Richard Owens, said he wasted 90 minutes driving there only to see the park was closed for the day, leaving six children disappointed.

A spokesman for the theme park said: “Due to a power outage in the area, Dreamland will be closed today, Tuesday October 24.

“We are working with the relevant service providers to rectify the situation as soon as possible.

"Visitors are advised to check the website for further updates. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused."

Anyone that has pre-booked wristbands should email office@dreamland.co.uk with their booking reference number.

The power outage has also impacted the roller disco, Octopus's Garden and online ticket sales.
