Margate harbour rescue after man gets stuck in mud

A man was rescued from deep mud after getting stuck this morning.

Fire, police and coastguard crews helped free the trapped man from Margate harbour.

They were called to the town's harbour arm just before 6.15am.

After being rescued, the casualty was passed into the care of medics and taken to the QEQM Hospital for treatment.

A force spokesman said: "Officers attended, together with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Coast Ambulance service to assist in recovering the man."
