In a letter to parents, head teacher Debra Liddicoat said staff will be placed at exits at pickup time to “keep a lookout”.

She said: “We have had a report regarding a student being approached by a man driving an old blue car and asking the student to enter the vehicle, asking more than once.

“The parents have been contacted and recommended to contact the police.

“Our staff on the school gates are aware to keep a lookout for this afternoon and I will also be contacting our local police officer.

“It is important we share this information with you too so if you are in the local areas we can help keep our community safe.”

Police have been approached for more information.
