Trains halted between Margate and Ramsgate due to emergency incident

Train services were halted between two Kent stations because of an 'emergency incident'.

Southeastern trains between Margate and Ramsgate stopped running and replacement bus services were put on instead.

The news was broken on the company's twitter account.

Replacement bus services operated from Margate to Ramsgate and Canterbury West, as well as Ramsgate and Dover Priory.

But the lines have now been recharged and services are running again.

The exact nature of the incident is not yet known.

Police and the ambulance service have been contacted for comment.
