When officers arrived they also found that the bike shed had been damaged and all the windows on the school mini-bus had been smashed.

CCTV at the children’s centre on the same site had also been damaged, but it seems nothing was stolen.

PC Jason Hills said: “We have conducted enquiries and we believe three men were seen in the area, all wearing dark coloured tracksuits.”

“This was a mindless act of vandalism, costing the school thousands of pounds so we would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything to get in touch.”
