Walker set for Rams debut

New signing Byron Walker is set to make his debut for Ramsgate in their Ryman League, Premier Division trip to bottom side Heybridge Swifts on Saturday.

Midfielder Walker moved from Folkestone Invicta this week after struggling to win a regular first team place at Cheriton Road, and Rams boss Jim Ward said: "I like his pace, and he offers us something different. I hope he comes here and does very well." Ward confirmed he is also looking at three other un-named trialists.

Meanwhile, Ben Laslett is ruled out with ligament damage having had his leg put in plaster this week, and on-loan striker Jay May is nursing an arm injury picked up in last week's 4-1 home defeat by Tooting.

Defender Will Graham has re-joined Herne Bay, but Ward has shelved plans to loan former striker Aaron Firth to the Kent League club, because of the injury situation and the fact that top scorer Mo Takaloo is facing an imminent suspension, after picking up five bookings.
