The cause of a field fire is not yet known after it sparked a large emergency response this afternoon.
Multiple fire engines were called to Newlands Lane, Ramsgate with crews using hose reel jets and beaters to contain it.
Residents were told to keep their windows and doors closed due to the smoke.
Crews were called to the scene shortly before 3pm today.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Firefighting operations have now finished at a cornfield fire in Newlands Lane, Ramsgate.
“At the height of the incident, there were four fire engines in attendance and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
“There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
“Earlier advice to keep windows and doors closed and to avoid the area due to the smoke, has now been lifted.”
There have been several field fires this summer, the most recent being when two hectares were engulfed in flames in the early hours of the morning.
The blaze took hold on land off Prestedge Avenue, Ramsgate, with four fire engines scrambled to fight back the flames on August 31.
