Serious assault in Beach Rise, Westgate, leaves woman with cut to her face

A woman suffered a cut to her face during a serious assault in a communal entrance.

An altercation involving a group of people kicked off at an address in Beach Rise, Westgate, in the early of hours of this morning.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment to the facial cut.

Police were called out at about 12.30am.

Investigating officers are now appealing for any witnesses or those with CCTV to come forward.

Detective Inspector Julien Lawton of Margate CID said: "While detectives are completing inquiries in the area including forensic examinations, we are appealing for witnesses or anybody with information about the incident to contact us.

"I would also ask motorists who may have been in the area to check for any dashcam footage that shows a group of people in Beach Rise between midnight and 1am, and local residents are requested to view home security CCTV or doorbell cameras for anything that may assist the investigation."
