A young girl was taken to hospital after being struck by a car during the school run.

Police and paramedics were called to Thorne Road, Minster, near Ramsgate, following the collision.

Emergency services arrived at about 3.30pm on Tuesday and the youngster was taken to hospital for treatment.

An ambulance spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.25pm yesterday to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Thorne Road in Minster.

“Crews assessed and treated the pedestrian at the scene before taking them to the QEQM hospital for further medical treatment.”

A police spokesman says the road was clear by 4.14pm.

The Minster Church of England Primary School has been been approached for comment.
