DFDS Kent Junior Cup C Final: Minster 0 West Wickham 4

Three first-half goals paved the way for West Wickham to win the Kent Junior Cup C Final at Chatham's Maidstone Road ground on Saturday morning.

Wickham clinically took their chances while Minster, despite plenty of endeavour, were unable to get on the scoresheet.

Delighted player/manager Chris Eadon said: "The boys had a really good first half and put the game to bed. We wanted to keep it solid in the second half but we more than deserved to win the game.

"They gave it a really good go and have some good skilful players but this was our year.

"We've been really good in front of goal and those finishes are what we expect from our players.

"We're still in contention in our league but we've got to win our last two games so there's lots more still to play for."

Minster had an early chance when Thomas Goulette turned his effort wide from a Will O'Keefe cross.

But Wickham responded as Jack Imms shot wide from long range before they went ahead on seven minutes, Max Kinloch converting from close range after Kieran Hughes headed back an Imms free-kick.

Joe Rahilly lobbed wide for Wickham before Minster threatened an equaliser with the lively O'Keefe sending an acrobatic effort just off-target.

Wickham doubled their lead on 36 minutes as James Payne put Minster defender Alfie Holden under pressure and he could only find the bottom corner of his own goal in attempting to clear the danger.

Minster tried to respond and left-back Jordan Jennings strode forward to force keeper Ryan Spence into action from 30 yards.

But the half-time team-talk changed again on the stroke of half-time when Imms' free-kick was brilliantly volleyed in by Hughes.

The chances dried up after the break although it could have been a different story had the lively O'Keefe not been denied by Spence on 47 minutes having twisted and turned his way past two defenders on the edge of the box.

George Rahilly produced a similar tricky run for Wickham at the other end midway through the second half but his shot was equally well kept out by Minster keeper Billy Mack.

Both teams were reduced to 10 men on 84 minutes when Minster's William Cochrane and Wickham's Joe Rahilly clashed off the ball.

There was still time for Wickham to wrap up their success with a fourth goal on 88 minutes, player-of-the-match Kinloch sending a curling shot with the outside of his right foot into the top corner from 25 yards.
