A 15-year-old boy has died after being hit by a train.
Emergency services were called and rail services had to be cancelled between Redhill and Tonbridge over the weekend.
The line was suspended for most of Saturday while British Transport Police (BTP) and ambulance crews dealt with the incident.
At 9.13am, Southern Rail reported a person had been hit and all lines were blocked.
Nutfield, Godstone, Edenbridge, Penshurst, Leigh and Tonbridge were all affected.
A spokeswoman for BTP has since confirmed a 15-year-old boy had died.
She said: “Officers were called to the line in Nutfield at 9.12am on March 29 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended. However, sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Rail replacement buses were brought in before the route reopened at around 3pm the same day.
Southern Rail posted an update on X, saying it was a “tragic incident”.
“We work closely with @samaritans and support the work they do,” it added.
“If you or someone close to you has been affected by this or any incident, there is always someone to talk to.
