Burst water main in Headcorn Road in Staplehurst, Tonbridge leaves residents without water

Families were left without water for four hours after main pipe burst.

Multiple homes around Headcorn Road in Staplehurst, Tonbridge were left with low pressure or no water at all.

The incident was first reported to South East Water at around 8.30am today.

On the company's website it said earlier: "Our team on site have now completed the repair to the water main and we are pleased to report you should now have your water supply restored.

"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and re-assure customers that we are working hard to fix the mains as quickly as possible."
Residents are advised that any discolouration in the water is not harmful and due to small particles of iron which are in the mains.

Running the water should return to normal.

The leak caused water to gush down the street this morning.

Residents have also reported a sinkhole has opened up in Hurst Close.

Kent County Council has been approached for comment.
