Cyclist recovering in hospital from 'serious' head and back injuries after being hit by van on A228 Boyle Way in East Peckham

A cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a van.

The vehicles collided on the A228 Boyle Way in East Peckham at around 11am on Sunday, and left the cyclist, a man in his 40s, needing treatment for head and back injuries.

He has since been taken to a London hospital for further medical attention, where his condition is described as serious, but stable.

Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the crash and would urge anyone with information, and those who have dash cam footage from the area at the time, to contact them.
