Tonbridge man arrested after cyclist killed in Essex crash

A man has been arrested after a cyclist died in a crash at the weekend.

Police in Essex are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist and a van collided on the Southend-bound carriageway of the A127 Arterial Road, Wickford, on Sunday morning.

The cyclist, a 30-year-old man from Chadwell Heath, died at the scene.

Police arrested the 42-year-old van driver from Tonbridge on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was questioned and later released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
