Tribute to Lydia Smith who died in a crash in Tudeley Road, Tonbridge

The family of a young woman who died following a crash have paid tribute to a "beautiful, cherished and much loved" daughter.

Lydia Smith was driving a white Ford Fiesta which was involved in a collision in Tudeley Road near the junction with Postern Lane, just after midnight on Saturday.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene but the 23-year-old from Tunbridge Wells was sadly pronounced dead.

Her family have now spoken about their loss, saying: "Our beautiful daughter, Lydia, the light of our lives, was cherished and much loved. She was a ray of sunshine, a beautiful person loved by many and she will leave an unfillable void in our lives.’

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision, also involving a white Volkswagen Passat.

The driver of the Passat and a passenger were taken to hospital, with serious injuries but were not in a life-threatening condition.
